2022 QX60 Autograph FWD tow hitch installation not possible

Has anyone out there with a 2022 Infiniti QX60 Autograph FWD attempted to install a tow hitch? I've come across some info suggesting it might not be feasible because of where the motion-activated liftgate is located.

Did you discover this issue only after purchasing the car? Are there any alternatives or workarounds? I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences.

It's not "impossible," but it's a headache cos you either lose the hands free feature, or you have to mess with relocating the sensor which isn't officially supported and may or may not work right after, most people its either a custom hitch setup or just accepted losing the sensor altogether.
Frankly, for a vehicle in this price range, it's ridiculous they didn't engineer around this.

If Infiniti knew the tow hitch would interfere with the motion-activated liftgate, why sell a premium SUV with no clear workaround, shouldn't full functionality and towing be standard at this price point?
