I just got a new Infiniti QX60, and on the dashboard, there's this yellow light (like a little sun) that pops on and off right by my tach.

I asked my friends, but I've gotten three different answers this week alone!

My buddy said it was a burnt out bulb (I don't think so). Then a coworker of mine seriously told me it just means "it's daytime out"! I almost lost it laughing, but he was dead serious. Then my neighbor add my confusion by saying that it's a blind spot thingy.

Anyone got a clue what this dang light is? I'm at my wit's end here!

Haha, your coworker wins for the funniest answer, the sun icon is actually the indicator for the automatic high beam system. It comes on when the system is activated, meaning it's ready to switch between high and low beams depending on traffic and lighting. I dont think it should be anything serious though

That little sun icon next to your tachometer isn't related to a bulb malfunction or a blind spot alert. It's actually part of the QX60's weather display, indicating the current conditions outside. When it lights up, it simply means it's sunny out there.

It turns out that there are about a dozen different weather icons that pop up to reflect what's happening out there. Pretty cool, right?

A coworker of mine spent weeks trying to figure out a mysterious light on his QX60. It turned out to be linked to the adaptive lighting system, which activates in certain driving modes.
